What is a CCRC?

Frequently Asked QuestionsContinuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRC) provide a variety of senior housing options and services to meet the changing needs of their residents. Depending on the CCRC, These options can include independent living, assisted living, memory care, couples care, and nursing care.

Continuing care residents have the option of seamlessly transitioning into different housing choices as their needs change, eliminating the need to move into a different community at a later date.

Although most CCRCs require a large entrance fee, Cedarbrook of Bloomfield Hills is purely a rental community. A non-refundable deposit equal to your first month’s rent is required to secure an apartment.

What if the unit I want already has a deposit on it?

What if I need extra care? Can I move to the other care levels within the CCRC?

Yes, existing residents receive priority entrance to the other care levels within Cedarbrook of Bloomfield Hills. Our staff is committed to working with you and your family to ensure that your transition will happen in the most timely and seamless way possible.

If I am in assisted living and my care needs change, how am I assessed?
